I love fall-ish taupe color and crinkled pleating, and it works just as well now with a sleeveless top as it will later with a cropped sweater. A fringed handbag and feather-embellished hat helped to complete the boho look. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend! xoxo P.S. - Don't forget to enter the Emploi New York dress giveaway!

Like really, really ready. Unfortunately, Mother Nature here in Southern California is not on the same page. (As in, two 88+ degree forecasts this week. Get it together, October.) So for now I'm sticking with lightweight dresses and such that can be paired with jackets at sundown, and this one from Emploi New York's resort collection is a whole lotta fun when paired with black extras and a bold, pink lip. (Also, check out the rest of their resort threads here.) Now thanks to Emploi, I'm giving one of these dresses away to one lucky reader. Simply click away at the options below. Good luck! xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography CAbi blouse (c/o); CAbi skirt (c/o); JustFab bag (c/o); Halogen heels (also love these); Forever 21 sunglasses; bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in "Live Large" I've never had a job with the typical nine-to-five office attire, but sometimes it's fun to dress the part. I love a good pencil skirt, and in burgundy lace, this one from CAbi is perfect for fall. Calf-hair leopard pumps create contrast, while a tucked black blouse and structured handbag add polish. If a buttoned-up dress code is part of your weekday routine, it's easy to get stuck in a boring rut, but adding in a few textured pieces for fall can really change your options. Hope everyone has a great week!
xoxo P.S. - Head over to my Instagram today for a fun giveaway! Paige Denim jeans via Marshall's (similar); Joe Fresh tank; Halogen heels; C.Wonder sunglasses; French Connection bag (c/o); La Mer Collections watch Today I'm sharing one final look from New York Fashion Week, and this particular morning was a hot one. (From the looks of my friends' NYC Instagram snaps these days, I'd say I just missed out on some glorious fall weather on the East Coast.) After running around New York for a few days, Kathleen dragged me out of bed early on Saturday morning, and easy jeans and a tank were pretty much all I could muster. These coated, zippered skinnies are surprisingly so comfortable, and I know they will be in heavy rotation throughout the fall. Staple leopard pumps, a sleek leather bag, and mirrored sunnies finished off the look. Hope everyone is having a great week - it's almost Friday! xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Skirt via Nordstrom (old, but love this one); Equipment blouse; Everlane sweatshirt; Report booties (c/o) Alloy Apparel; Tory Burch bag; Shop Prima Donna necklace; Forever 21 sunglasses; H&M bracelet In the spirit of pretending it feels like fall around here, I wanted to layer up a bit without jumping the gun on the temperature front. This perforated leather mini has been hiding in the back of my closet for a while now, and I was excited when I remembered it earlier this week. Paired with a silk blouse and short-sleeved sweatshirt, it's sort of an edgy take on a schoolgirl-inspired look. Peep-toe booties (that will be in heavy rotation this fall), a bold handbag, and a statement necklace added the finishing touches. Hope everyone is enjoying the first official days of fall! xoxo P.S. - There's still time to enter the $500 Neiman Marcus giveaway, so don't miss out! H&M sweater and skirt (similar); Lulu's heels; Kate Spade bag (borrowed from Krystal); Kitsy Lane bracelet; Vita Fede wrap bracelet; Alex & Ani gold bracelet; Michael Kors watch; Jane Basch necklace; Forever 21 sunglasses Because a heat wave counts as sweater weather, no? After a pre-fall leather skirt search, I picked up this little get-up a few weeks ago at H&M and instantly thought "New York." Fast forward to a sticky, 80+ degree morning in the Big Hot Apple, and a chunky sweater probably wasn't the best idea. But hey, "if you like it, wear it" is kind of my thought, and I liked it. And most of my destinations had air conditioning. So whatever. Today I'm off to Palm Springs for the weekend where the high is over 100 degrees and anything heavier than chiffon just won't do, but sometimes a weekend by the pool is just what the doctor ordered. Who's excited for Friday?! This girl! xoxo Photos thanks to Kaela Rodehorst Photography Lulu's dress (c/o); The Limited belt; H&M jacket; JustFab heels (c/o); Rebecca Minkoff bag; Forever 21 sunglasses; bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in "Live It Up" Today I'm sharing another look from New York Fashion Week. Although we all wanted to celebrate fall fashion and maybe rock a sweater or two, the truth of the matter is that New York was sweltering, with a heavy dose of humidity just for good measure. This little black dress from Lulu's was just about all the fabric I could muster for Friday's shows, and paired with an embellished belt and bow shoes, I liked that it was simple and chic. I brought along the leather jacket because the tents in stark comparison were an icebox zone. (Which I definitely did not mind.) Stay tuned for a couple more looks from Fashion Week coming up on the blog this week and next. xoxo Photos thanks to Taylor Cole Photography Forever 21 shorts (similar); AMI Clubwear sweater (c/o); AMI Clubwear heels (c/o); Rebecca Minkoff bag; Theodora & Callum scarf (c/o); Kitsy Lane bracelet; Ray-Ban sunglasses; bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Live It Up There's pretty much nothing easier for me than a little black on black accessorized with pops of color, and these faux leather shorts paired with an oversized lightweight sweater is a definite fall go-to. Break up the monotone color palette with a bold scarf and contrasting heels, and top it all off with a red lip. I don't know about you guys, but I'm SO ready for a little fall weather and a lot of fall fashion! xoxo Photos thanks to Kathleen Lulu's dress (c/o); H&M jacket; Rebecca Minkoff bag; JustFab booties (c/o); Kendra Scott bracelet and ring (c/o); Forever 21 sunglasses By far one of my favorite trends for fall this year involves plaid everything. From dresses and tops to handbags and heels, I'm loving the preppy meets grunge feel of plaid pieces, and this dress from Lulu's is so great for transitioning into the new season. I wore it to last Saturday's RewardStyle party during NYFW, and it was the perfect mini for an afternoon party. Black booties, a leather jacket, and statement jewelry helped complete the look. If you're looking to add a little plaid into your fall wardrobe, look no further than Lulu's for some seriously chic options. Happy shopping, and happy Friday, everyone! xoxo Photos thanks to Zack Seckler and T.J.Maxx/Marshalls Sweatshirt, skirt, heels, bag all (c/o) T.J.Maxx New York Fashion Week can definitely be one of the most challenging trips for me when it comes to packing. There's the "I have nothing to wear" meltdown followed by the "holy crap I need to go shopping" epiphany. In an effort to look pulled together and on-trend without completely breaking the bank, I definitely make it a priority to check out Marshalls and T.J.Maxx a few times in the weeks leading up to the trip. It's amazing how many quality wardrobe staples and trendy extras you can find. I've always found great looks at T.J.Maxx and Marshalls, but lately, they've stepped it way up. (I'm talking designer dresses and handbag heaven.) For this past NYFW, I first found these shoes and knew I wanted to find a look that was sporty for fall. I thought the sweatshirt was so fun, and this skirt is one of those pieces that I'll have forever. The bag was the final piece of the puzzle, and I added in my own jewelry to personalize it. A big thanks to T.J.Maxx and Marshalls for one of my favorite looks this #NYFW. What are some of your favorite fab finds? xoxo |
